This episode of Notes from the Fires takes us to Venice to meet Nina Evtuhov, a sought-after session violinist whose house burned down in the Palisades on January 7th. Nina’s on more than 400 film and tv scores, from Frozen to Star Wars to Indiana Jones to all the new Star Trek TV shows. Plus, she was in the pit for lots of Broadway shows, like The Boy from Oz, Oklahoma, and Les Miz. Losing everything in the fire means rebuilding her life again, because Nina’s husband died in 2010, leaving her to raise her two daughters.
Thank you to Nina for being part of Notes from the Fires. The piece you heard at the end of today's episode is Ricochet by Kerry Turner. It's performed by Nina's late husband Pete Schoettler and his group The Saturday Brass Quintet.
