Musicians spend months practicing the pieces they’ll take to concert halls, but these days musicians are also being asked to practice patience as health concerns prompt concert cancellations around the world, and right here in our own backyard. The USC Thornton School’s Piatigorsky Festival was set to begin this Friday — and KUSC was going to broadcast the opening gala concert live. But as flying dozens of cellists from across the globe to Los Angeles seemed more and more ill-advised, USC made the difficult decision to cancel the festival.
