We’re Celebrating Public Radio Music Day | November 10th

Join us November 10th for the second-annual Public Radio Music Day, a day to celebrate the special role that public radio music stations play in their communities.

We’re joining the national celebration by highlighting musicians from our community — you’ll hear music written or performed by local composers, performers, and orchestras throughout the day. We also bring you local talent every weekday at noon on Play On, California! and highlight even more from local musicians and orchestras on the show’s companion Play On, California! blog. Plus, we also dedicate Sunday evenings to showcasing performances by the incredible orchestras across Southern California on SoCal Sunday Night and SoCal Sunday Night on demand.

Here are some fun facts for public radio music fans:

  • there are over 700 public radio music stations in the U.S.
  • 97% of classical music on the air is found on public radio music stations
  • Hundreds of thousands of people a week tune to KUSC and many more listen through our apps and stream in SoCal and around the world
  • KUSC is largely funded by approximately 40,000 members who dig into their own pockets to support the music and our mission.
Support Classical KUSC with a Donation Today

Public Radio Music Day is a powerful reminder that the existence of KUSC is only possible with community support. If you’re in a position to make a donation, I hope you’ll consider supporting KUSC today to keep this public classical music oasis thriving.
