Platoon Presents: RZA – A Ballet Through Mud Live Performance

Famed artist RZA in partnership with Platoon will present a live performance of “A Ballet Through Mud,” at The Los Angeles Theater on November 4, 2024.

Originally performed by the Colorado Symphony in 2023, “A Ballet Through Mud” is a poignant coming-of-age story that delves into the complexities of love, the bonds of friendship, and personal growth. Featuring characters named for Greek musical scales, the piece echoes RZA’s journey from Staten Island project housing to refined concert halls – weaving in tales of love, loss, exploration, Buddhist monks, and a journey “through mud.”

The one night only event will be conducted by Oliver Zeffman and performed by students and alumni from USC Thornton School of Music with dancers from Sorzano Dance Works.
